Art 220 First Day

Exploring apples was the grand introduction to Art 220. Finding similarities and differences in the same fruit through contrasting perspectives was the objective. Each individual described something from their own outlook on what they saw in the fruit. Every person had their own view of qualities for the apple. This exercise displayed how people can view things differently. A simple item as a fruit can be envisioned in many ways. Some characteristics of the apple might have stood out more to one person than the next. This was a good example as an introduction to the class. The class title Concept and Development, is an idea of something formed to bring a more advanced or effective state. Basically taking something simple and looking at all the possibilities to what it may become. I think in Concept and Development we will be given challenges and assignments to individualize our works and to advance projects in a higher manner. I think simple examples, such as apples, are the first of many more to come.

sharp-clearly defined; distinct.
silky-of or like silk; smooth, lustrous, soft, or delicate: silky skin.
experimental-pertaining to, derived from, or founded on experiment: an experimental science.

  1. I agree that the intro. to apple project was interesting becuase each person had a differnet input how the apple looked like or smelled like etc. I agree that concept developement is a group of ideas and thoughts that you as explorer have to input it as a design.

  2. I also agree with how the apple project stimulated our minds. After exchanging perceptions of the apple with each other, it helped each of us grow in learning about other ways to look at the same thing.
